Green House Effect Paragraph : 01
Green house effect is a threat for the existing human beings, animals, plants and above all, all the phenomena of the world. It is associated with the global warming.
The temperature of the world is increasing gradually. Carbon dioxide is the main culprit which is being deposited gradually in the atmosphere. It is generally produced when the fossil fuel is burnt. Carbon dioxide entraps the heat in the atmosphere. As a result, the temperature of the world is on the increase. CFC contributes devastatingly to the green house effect.
The refrigerator which is used in our daily life is also producing CFC. CFC is also used in manufacturing goods, packaging commercial products, in aerosol etc. This CFC is responsible to a great extent for green house effect.
The adverse effect of the green house is very disastrous. It is feared that by the mid century the world temperature will increase 4 degree Celsisus. The polar ice caps have started to melt. Sea level is rising. Consequently the lower regions of the world will go under water, and the southern regions of Bangladesh will also go under water. This catastrophic disaster must be checked. It is to be done to save our existence.

The greenhouse effect is a natural process in which certain gases in the Earth’s atmosphere trap the sun’s radiation. This process makes the earth warm. Hence, it is important to sustain life on earth.
But, due to various human activities, in particular, excessive combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation, the natural greenhouse effect is intensifying; resulting in global warming. The reason behind this effect is greenhouse gases. The greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and water vapor (H2O). These gases absorb the solar heat that radiates from the earth’s surface. If the volume of gases is more, it can hold more heat. Then the heat exceeds the level that needs for life-sustaining. Consequently, it causes climate change and global warming.
Human beings are producing and releasing a huge amount of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. As a result, the bad consequences of the greenhouse effect are becoming stronger on the earth. Most scientists predict that higher levels of greenhouse gases can cause severe problems to the life of this planet. The lower land of the planet may go underwater. It is the duty of the people to keep control of producing and releasing greenhouse gases.

A greenhouse effect is a process in which solar heat radiated from the earth’s surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases and trapped into the atmosphere that warms the Earth’s surface and troposphere. This process is usually named after the method of producing plants by constructing glass greenhouses in colder countries. This natural greenhouse reaction on Earth has helped create life.
But, due to various human activities, in particular, excessive combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation, the natural greenhouse effect is intensifying and increasing the average temperature of the earth’s surface and atmosphere.
This increasing temperature of the earth’s surface causes global warming. It is a threat to the existing humans, animals, and plants of the earth. The greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapor re-radiate and trap heat on the earth’s surface. Carbon dioxide is the main culprit which is being gradually deposited in the atmosphere.
It is generally produced, when the fossil fuel is burnt. CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) is another element that contributes devastatingly to the greenhouse effect. Nowadays CFC is used in refrigerators, manufacturing goods, packaging commercial products, in aerosol, etc. The bad effect of the greenhouse is very disastrous. The greenhouse effect is the process by which heat radiated from the Earth’s surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, including methane, CFCs, nitrous oxide, and water vapor) and dissipated back into the atmosphere. This radiated heat returns to the surface and lower atmosphere, increasing the average temperature of the surface and atmosphere. This natural greenhouse reaction on Earth is helping the creation of life. But various human activities, especially, excessive burning of fossil fuels and deforestation are intensifying the natural greenhouse effect, resulting in global warming.
As a result, the greenhouse reaction has become a widely discussed topic of the present time. The conscious human society around the world is worried about the climate change that is expected to occur in the next few decades as a result of the greenhouse reaction. Natural disasters such as lack of rainfall, forest fires, heat waves, hurricanes, cyclones, droughts, severe floods, etc. are all believed to be the result of the greenhouse effect. As a result of the greenhouse effect, the temperature of the earth is 2-5 degrees Celsius. Many people think that the natural balance of the earth will be completely destroyed if it increases.
All the problems that will arise as a result of greenhouse effect are-
1. The height of the sea surface will increase,
2. The expansion of desert areas will occur,
3. Polar ice caps will melt,
4. Tropical forests will be destroyed and
5. Current speed of air flow will change. The effect of greenhouse effect on Bangladesh is extensive. As a result, there is a danger of submerging the southern part of Bangladesh.
However, it is possible to reduce the greenhouse effect by taking several steps. First, taking effective measures to curb carbon-dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. A Greenhouse, as the term suggests, is a structure made of glass which is designed to trap heat inside. Thus, even on cold chilling winter days, there is warmth inside it. Similarly, Earth also traps energy from the Sun and prevents it from escaping back. The greenhouse gases or the molecules present in the atmosphere of the Earth trap the heat of the Sun. This is what we know as the Greenhouse effect.

Greenhouse Gases
These gases or molecules are naturally present in the atmosphere of the Earth. However, they are also released due to human activities. These gases play a vital role in trapping the heat of the Sun and thereby gradually warming the temperature of Earth. The Earth is habitable for humans due to the equilibrium of the energy it receives and the energy that it reflects back to space.
Global Warming and the Greenhouse Effect
The trapping and emission of radiation by the greenhouse gases present in the atmosphere is known as the Greenhouse effect. Without this process, Earth will either be very cold or very hot, which will make life impossible on Earth.
The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon. Due to wrong human activities such as clearing forests, burning fossil fuels, releasing industrial gas in the atmosphere, etc., the emission of greenhouse gases is increasing.
Thus, this has, in turn, resulted in global warming. We can see the effects due to these like extreme droughts, floods, hurricanes, landslides, rise in sea levels, etc. Global warming is adversely affecting our biodiversity, ecosystem and the life of the people. Also, the Himalayan glaciers are melting due to this.
