Eid-Al-Fitr is widely celebrated by Muslim communities. It is the most awaited festival of the Islamic community across the world. As per historical facts, a “Sahabi” of Prophet Muhammad Anas-Ibn-Malik told that when Prophet came in Medina, he witnessed that people are celebrating two special days for their joy and amusement.

After this, Islamic Prophet Muhammad said that “almighty has fixed two days of festivity instead of these for you which are better than these: Eid-Al-Fitr & Eid-Al-Adha”. In rural areas, Eid-Al-Fitr fairs are organized. Kids and elders visit the fairs in the evening after the ‘Namaaz’. People wear new clothes and enjoy the delicious dishes specially cooked on the fest. The famous Eid Dish is “Sewai”.

People specially cook this sweet on the occasion of Eid. Other Meat stew and various dishes are also prepared for enjoying the fest. In India on Eid, there is a holiday. Across nation Islamic communities celebrate it with zeal. They invite their Muslim and Non-Muslim friends for dinner.

Eid-Al-Fitr is an awaited festival of the Muslim community. In India, Eid is also called a festival of brotherhood and unity. People wish each other and also invited them to the Eid Party or Eid Daawat. Across the world, all Muslim countries celebrate it with zeal. People attend the Eid prayer in the mosque and wear traditional Muslim dress.

After the special ‘Azaan’ from the mosque people remember their god. They distribute food to poor and needy ones as a custom called Zakat-Al-Fitr. The Eid prayers are performed after the Zakat-Al-Fitr religious service. The Eid prayers are performed at “Eidgah”. The fest starts after the Moon (Eid ka Chand) is sighted. People wish each other “Eid Mubarak” after seeing the Moon.

Eid-Al-Fitr or Eid is the biggest festival of Islam. A glimpse of traditional Islamic culture can be seen in this fest. The fest begins after sighting the ‘Crescent Moon’ on the 29th day of Ramadan month. In case if the moon will not be observed because of bad weather, then the next day will be considered as the fest.

Eid is the fest of three days; it varies according to the tradition of the country. As per Islamic culture, having fast on the eve of Eid is forbidden. The charitable act of Zakat-Al-Fitr is mandatory for all Muslims. They have to distribute food, clothes or money to poor and needy ones before performing the Eid prayers.

Across the globe, the traditional Eid-Al-Fitr fest is celebrated. In the Middle East, Eid is celebrated on a huge level, people put on their best clothes specially purchased for the occasion and pray. In Turkey, kids visit neighbors and wish them. The traditional dishes are cooked. In India, Mithi Sewaiya and Sheer Kurma are the two most common Eid dishes cooked with Vermicelli, dry fruits, sugar, and butter.

Eid is the festival of unity, peace, and friendship. People visit each other homes and enjoy dinner. In India, Government officials and famous public figures organize Eid Party and wish the general public. On Social Media Platforms, people share messages and pictures of Eid and wish each other.

Eid-Al-Fitr is the main festival of Islam. Both Shia and Sunni communities of Muslims celebrate it with zest. The Moon sightings are declared by Saudi Arabia and then worldwide the grand celebration of Eid is observed. The whole Muslim community dedicates themselves to prayers and other religious rituals in the month of Ramadan.

They perform fast for the whole day and after the evening prayers, they break their fast. The same schedule is repeated for the entire month of Ramadan and on the last day of Ramadan is celebrated as Eid-Al-Fitr.

In 2020, Eid will be celebrated on 23-24 May. During Ramadan, the market is filled with Sweet shops, Clothing, and other decorative items. People visit markets and do their Eid shopping. The sweet shops are filled with Vermicelli. Everywhere people are seen shopping happily with their families. The aromatic smell from the Sheer Kurma is the best part of the Eid.

Younger ones wait for the Eidi (Money and small gifts represented by elders); the custom of gifting kids is old. The young eyes are sparkled with joy after getting Eidis; they use this money for Eid fairs. On the day of ‘Chand Raat’ (Moon Sight), some people burn crackers. Every age people enjoy this fest. The Eid fairs are decorated with colorful stalls of food, toys, etc.

People eagerly wait for the Crescent Moon. The ‘Chand Raat’ is the joy for every Muslim community, they wait for it eagerly. The whole month of Ramadan or Mah-E-Ramzan is devoted to Allah; they fast for a good life. The special prayer of Eid is dedicated to the god. Eid is the fest of joy and happiness among people.
